With screens becoming the main way to access almost all information, hardcover books are becoming a thing of the past for personal libraries.

As the years go by screen time increases little by little not only for adults but especially for children. Between work, school, games, and social media time spent on phones, tablets, and computers reach levels where things like news papers and books are slowly having to adapt to online versions of themselves. That is why the first TravTech trend I want to talk about is Digital Libraries.
What is a Digital Library?
For most, when we think of reading online we will use our phones. This is the beginning of a Digital Library, but it just does not match the experience as a physical Library. That is why with the tech available today we are making more space and committing more creativity toward our digital library. An example of this, would be having a separate shelf or space set aside, for holding each member of the household's own device solely used for reading. Each device can hold all the same books and profiles can be created to separate what mom wants to read and what the kids find interesting. Just like your Netflix profiles.
Why is a Digital Library important?
The reason Digital Libraries are important is because people are more interested in a screen and that means we should evolve into making reading devices in the home or workplace normal. I'm not saying get rid of physical books all together but there is another stream of readers who just can't find holding a book captivating. Majority of books have online versions of themselves but reading on your phone just isn't going to cut it. We need to keep reading a priority so that our families and ourselves can retain the value of books.
Is it expensive?
Creating a Digital library not only takes up minimal space in your house but it can actually be inexpensive and support sustainability to our environment. Some people even have old tablets or computers that can get you started. The key is to limit the usage of the device to only reading. You can buy a starting device for as low as $39.99. That and the cost of a book or two to begin could be free with certain apps or adding an extra $10.
By creating this space for books in your home or office you show ease of access to reading. More importantly, we keep the value of a personal or workplace library alive in the modern world of technology.
